Hey, I just thought I'd post this clip: it's Al Jarreau with Steve Gadd, performing Spain at Live Under the Sky (?), I got it off e-mule, and Steve Gadd is GREEAT!!...here it is:

Just curious....does anyone know what the "Live Under The Sky" videos are, or if they are even vids.?Any info on how to get these, or any info about them would be appreciated! [img]cool.gif[/img]

That left hand thing is just the Mozambique pattern played on the snare with his left hand...

(I'm sure you know that Pete [img]smile.gif[/img] )

I used to think it was lame to play it on everything like he does, but then I found out why after playing some real Latin gigs...it works!

Here's why: even though it's considered Afro-Cuban, it's fits in perfectly with Brazilian music too(Samba, et al)...because of how the bell accent pattern fits into the '2 on, 3 off, 2 on' "Brazilian Clave" (Gary Chaffee's description- Clave meaning "key").

Genius...
